The PSP Southampton Boat Show, in association with ITV Meridian, returns in
style from 12-21 September 2008 and this year will be celebrating its 40th
Show.
As well as exploring the spectacular feature boats on display, checking out
the latest in marine fashion and technology or perhaps discovering a new
hobby, there will be plenty of opportunities for visitors to experience the
thrill of being out on the water first hand.
With over 600 exhibitors and 700 boats on display, visitors wonıt be short
of things to see. Whether itıs power boats, sailing yachts or smaller
dinghies, thereıs plenty to explore. Those visitors looking for marine
accessories at the Show will also be spoilt for choice, with many exhibitors
offering chandlery, deck equipment, clothing, holidays, charters and much
more.
Features include:
- hundreds of boats on show at the Hydropool Marina, including famous
feature boats such as Pete Gossı Spirit of Mystery, the Jeanie Johnston, the
40-year old Ocean Pirate, the Hull & Humber, a 38ft Westerly Oceanranger,
Katie Millerıs Hot Socks and the Lively Lady, which has just returned from a
round-the-world voyage.
- The Main Stage Powered by Fairline, central to the Showıs spectacular
40th celebrations will host retro-style fashion shows, guest appearances
from seafaring personalities as well as short films celebrating the Showıs
history.
- For boating beginners or sailing veterans, experience being out on the
water with Try-a-Boat, choosing from the latest inflatables, powerboats or
yachts. The H2O Zone, in association with Calshot Activities Centre; is
brand NEW to the Show and represents a great place for kids to test out
their water sport skills, from canoeing, kayaking, dinghy sailing,
windsurfing or even the latest craze stand up paddle boarding!
