Oceans of Hope reaches Sydney for World MS Day
Australians Andrew Potter and Greg Pugh are two of the crew members with MS who joined Oceans of Hope before reaching Sydney. They took part in the colourful celebration of World MS Day at Darling Harbour on May 27: “It’s a privilege to join Oceans of Hope to help inspire others with MS and raise awareness of this devastating neurological condition. People with MS can still do great things and this world-first sail is testament to the progress that has been made in treating and managing MS,” said Mr Potter.
Meet the MS crew members who crossed the notoriously rough Tasman Sea from Auckland to Sydney: Henny Eriksen, Greg Pugh, Andrew Potter, Kathy Goddard and Mindy Bartscherer.

"I was diagnosed with MS in 2007 and it changed my life profoundly. However it has not stopped me doing most of the things I love to do." Support future crew member Neil Barnett's fundraiser.

A Global Voyage to Change Perceptions of Multiple Sclerosis
The Sailing Sclerosis project, Oceans of Hope, is the first ever circumnavigation by a yacht crewed by people with MS. The project will change the perception of multiple sclerosis by showing what is possible when people with a chronic disease are empowered to conquer their individual challenges, by engaging those whose lives are touched by MS and developing networks as a foundation for life-changing behaviours.
