Oceans of Hope returns to Denmark
Oceans of Hope returns to Copenhagen after completing world circumnavigation
We are hosting a welcome party on Sunday, November 15th from 2pm to 5.30pm at the quayside by Kulturhuset Islands Brygge. Please come and join us to celebrate the end of the first ever world circumnavigation on a yacht crewed by people living with MS – a unique achievement and one of Denmark's largest sailing projects to date.
After leaving Barcelona our brave MS crew crossed the Bay of Biscay, notorious for some of the fiercest weather in the northeast Atlantic Ocean, especially during winter. There are many tales of vessels foundering in Biscay storms. Read about the crossing and see the photos here.

Founder of Oceans of Hope, Mikkel Anthonisen, after Barcelona celebration: "I sincerely believe that we are holding on to something good and that we have very good reason to have great expectations for the future. The Sailing Sclerosis Foundation and Oceans of Hope are here to stay."
Oceans of Hope to be honoured at Copenhagen City Hall
On November 17th at 3pm Oceans of Hope staff, crew and supporters have been invited to Copenhagen City Hall to be honoured for the extraordinary effort put into the world circumnavigation. A speech will be given by a representative from the Danish healthcare administration followed by a speech from Founder of Oceans of Hope, Mikkel Athonisen. The visit will be rounded off by the City Hall's signature pancakes.
"Stand By Me" is a song that is very special to the Oceans of Hope family. Sit back and listen to Ben E. King sing his heart out in this recording from 1961.
Oceans of Hope has just left Kiel, Germany and is now sailing the last leg of the voyage headed for Copenhagen. Meet the MS crew who are getting her home safely.

A Global Voyage to Change Perceptions of Multiple Sclerosis
The Sailing Sclerosis project, Oceans of Hope, is the first ever circumnavigation by a yacht crewed by people with MS. The project will change the perception of multiple sclerosis by showing what is possible when people with a chronic disease are empowered to conquer their individual challenges, by engaging those whose lives are touched by MS and developing networks as a foundation for life-changing behaviours.
