Pride of Baltimore II and Clipper Race at Dennis Conner's North Cove
Last weekend saw a great amount of activity at Dennis Conner's North Cove.
Ten 68 foot racing sloops from the Clipper Round-the-World Race arrived after sailing
up from Jamaica. They docked stem to stern on the south side. Then the tall-ship
Pride of Baltimore II arrived and took slip S1. It was North Cove's first totally
sold out weekend of the season.
In addition to all the yachting (as well as weddings on the mega yachts), there
was the Blessing of the Fleet in New York Harbor on Friday evening. Pride II served
as the official review stand where the spiritual leaders gathered to say a few words
and bless the fleet. Saturday was Opening Day in the harbor with many boats sailing
and a sail parade from the Statue of Liberty towards the skyline of Manhattan.

There were also some sailors from NYC on the race this year! Check there website
for some great pictures of the stop over in NYC.

Did you know that the Pride offers sailing opportunities? you can book a spot
to sail from port to port during the summer.
So we hope you are also enjoying the start of your boating season. It's nice to
see all the activity. If you want to learn more, just stop by the marina anytime.
