"Remember When" Returns to Dennis Conner's North Cove
On the day after Irene, Remember When returned to Dennis Conner's North Cove. She is 162 feet and a frequent visitor at the marina. Lots of people have been out walking on the esplanade today, celebrating the sunny weather and happy that Battery Park City survived so well from the storm. When yachts like Remember When pull in, its a great vote of confidence for this beautiful community.
Just the day before, marina workers were walking in the calf deep water, keeping an eye on lines, gangways and docks (picture below). Then the sun came out and everyone is happy once again.
There is a lot of boating still left in the 2011 summer season. The next few weeks will be busy as yachts begin the annual migration south after Labor Day.
