NordDeutscher Regatta Verein Reaches Out To Reaffirm Reciprocal Privileges
The following email was received on March 1 from the International Delegate of the NordDeutscher Regatta Verein of Hamburg, Germany. It is another uplifting message which is why it is being shared with our full club. NRV first visited our club in 1999 with the International Sandbagger Series. Then they offered financial support to our club after 9/11. They have also participated in the Dennis Conner International Yacht Club Challenge. A few years ago, NRV suffered a setback when their clubhouse in Hamburg burnt down. They have just rebuilt their club in beautiful fashion (see photo above) and you can get more details at their website www.nrv.de

Dear Mike,
While browsing the internet I noted that the Manhattan Yacht Club had to relocate its sailing activities from Manhattan's North Cove across the Hudson River to Liberty Harbor Marina in Jersey City.
While this may perhaps initially be some kind of inconvenience for your members it may eventually turn out to be an advantage when it comes to future expansion plans that may become necessary with your growing membership.
In any case the Flag Officers and members of the NRV in Hamburg wish you all the best and good luck in the new location and many more hours of fabulous and enjoyable sailing on the Hudson river in New York Harbor and waters beyond.
If any of your members are planning to travel to Germany on business or privately and they also happen to be in Hamburg please do make sure to let them know that they are always more than welcome to pay us a visit and to enjoy the friendly atmosphere of our new Clubhouse here in Hamburg.
Best regards,
Wolfgang Weber - Delegate
International Affairs
