Thomas Coville, born in1968 in France, where he lives with his
wife and child, is an admired skipper with a vast array of
experience behind him. He started sailing dinghies as a
youngster and by 25 was the bowman in the French Admiral's
Cup team on board 'Corum'. He's taken part in the Tour Voile and Spi
Ouest France, and joined Marc Pajot's campaign in San Diego for the
America's Cup on board 'Ville de Paris'. Between 1994 and 1998 he
participated heavily in the Grand-Prix multihull circuit, mostly on board
'Primagaz'. He also assisted Olivier de Kersauson in the Jules Verne round
the world Trophy (record in 71days 14hours 22 mins.).

He earned his recognition as a single-handed sailor during his 1996-7 Mini
Transat project, when he won the 6.5m Nationals and came 2nd overall in
the Mini Transat. His solo success continued on through to the Figaro
circuit, where in 1998 on board 'Zurich Assurances' he won the 'Rookie'
(novice) class. His major triumph was when he took over at the last minute
from an injured Yves Parlier the Open 60 'Aquitaine Innovations' and won
the 1998 Route Du Rhum.
