The Race 2001
Das härteste Katamaran-Rennen Nonstop um die Welt - Übersicht
31.03.2009
The Azores high pressure cell is blocking the route
of the two "legacy" giant catamarans in The Race and means long hours of work for the navigators of Warta-Polpharma and Team Legato.
The next obstacle in Warta-Polpharma’s and Team Legato’s path is the Azores high pressure system. To get to the finish in Marseilles, the two challengers are going to have to cut through the middle of the high pressure, which will mean a real headache for the navigators.

For now, Tony Bullimore, 2,374 miles from the finish, reindexs 240 miles ahead of the men from the Baltic and is travelling at 11.5 knots. Roman Paszke and his crew, who are further north and much further west than Team Legato, are sailing at 12.4 knots.
You can be sure that the race between the two "legacy" giant catamarans will hot up over the next few days.
