In The Middle Of Bass Strait
Once again a drag race has started to establish with roughly 400 mile to
go to the finish in Sydney. Illbruck’s data showed a constant boat speed
of 12 knots in the 19 knot southeasterly. 17 miles clear astern sails SEB
slightly slower in second position with a 26-mile margin on News Corp. As
the weather forecast predicts reaching conditions up to Sydney, changes in
positions between those three yachts are unlikely, unless one breaks
sails or equipment.
For position four to six, the race is completely open. ASSA ABLOY is still
heading for the Australian coast 17 miles away and she will have to tack
to get around the peninsula that obstructs the direct way to Sydney. When
she gets south, she will come close to Amer Sports One and djuice who are
in fast reaching conditions clear of the peninsula.
Amer Sports Too is currently 400 miles away from King Island at the
entrance of Bass Strait.
