Mollymawk pit-stop before Salvador arrival
Yesterday's update from Mollymawk:
"Progress has been ok, steady 8 knots; but the temporary support we have put in place will not last until salvador unless we reinforce it with glues and glass/carbon; and as it is too wet to get them to bond and as Fernando de Noronha is only 45miles away we are going to seek shelter in the islands lee for a few hours to get the epoxy: glass etc to set before continuing to salvador as planned for full repairs: it will take us about 6hrs to reach the island and same agin to effect repairs before continuing.
So not too bad a delay on things With better repairs we should be able to sail faster and pick up the lost time:
Arnold the heron is looking in worse shape and he may not make it to slavador, we can only get him to eat the odd small flying fish that lands board he won't touch the bigger ones even when we slice them up - so hopefully he will take the opportunity to hop ashore and regain his sterngth: Will update when repairs carried out.
