Groupama (2nd), Géant (3rd) et Sodebo (4th) in the space of less than 10 minutes !
Tim Progetto Italia takes worthy 5th an hour later.

Groupama, Géant and Sodebo have shot into Saint-Malo, passing the finish line off the Môle des Noires lighthouse with less than 10 minutes between them. Franck Cammas, Michel Desjoyeaux and their respective crews thus completing the podium. Thomas Coville and his men finish fourth, Tim Progetto Italia fifth.

The suspense lasted right to the end, less than an hour after the arrival of Karine Fauconnier and her crew, her three pursuers who have hung onto the leader for over 24 hours, crossed the finish line of Saint-Malo in a weak wind accompanied by a myriad of spectator boats.

The Race Time for Groupama
It was at 14 hours 49 minutes and 02 seconds (GMT) on Monday 19 July 2004 that the 60 foot trimaran Groupama crossed the finish line of the 6th Transat Québec-Saint Malo.

Franck Cammas, Franck Proffit, Ewen Le Clech, Benoît Briand, Daniel Souben and Yann Dekker take second in the Québec-Saint Malo, an hour from the winner Sergio Tacchini.
Their race time in covering the 2950 miles was 7 days 21 hours 59 minutes and 02 seconds at an average theoretical speed over the course of 15.286 knots.
The Race Time for Géant
At 14 hours 51 minutes and 49 seconds (GMT) this Monday 19 July 2004, Géant crossed the finish line of the 6th Transat Québec-Saint Malo in 3rd position. Michel Desjoyeaux, Nicolas de Castro, Hugues Destremau, Hervé Jan, Vincent Riou and Jean-Philippe Saliou complete the podium of this Québec-Saint Malo in third place.
Their race time in covering 2950 miles was 7 days 22 hours 01 minute and 49 seconds at an average theoretical speed over the course of 15.283 knots.
The Race Time for Sodebo
Sodebo crossed the finish line at 15 hours 00 minutes and 42 seconds (GMT) on Monday 19 July 2004.
Thomas Coville, Loïck Peyron, Jacques Vincent, Martial Salvan, Stefan Fodor and Cam Lewis finish fourth in the Transat Québec-St Malo. Their race time was 7 days 22 hours 10 minutes and 42 seconds at an average theoretical speed over the course of 15.27 knots.
The Race Time for Tim Progetto Italia
Tim Progetto Italia crossed the finish line at 16 hours 05 minutes and 35 seconds (GMT) on Monday 19 July 2004. Giovanni Soldini, Guido Broggi, Gerardo Siciliano, Alberto Sonino, Tommaso Stella finish fifth in the Transat Québec St-Malo.
Their race time was 7 days 23 hours 15 minutes and 35 seconds at an average theoretical speed over the course of 15.18 knots.

Back in seventh place Banque Populaire has broken a foil.
