Happy Easter for Dee and Aviva

Happy Easter

To start with this morning I thought my Easter present had been delivered. We had a good breeze and were making some good speed once more just west of north. The sun was out again and the sea a brilliant turquoise blue.

I serviced another winch during the morning, careful to keep a T shirt on and apply sunscreen elsewhere, then at midday we gybed and I managed to put the Code 0 sheet onto another winch so I could service the winch on the pedestal. It is always a tricky one to get to as I always have a sheet on it.

The gybe is taking us west to clear the lump of Africa that sticks out into the Atlantic and at about 1900hrs tonight I moved from East longitudes back to the West once more. That felt good, now all I have to do is move from Southern latitudes to northern ones again then I will really feel as if I am getting there.

As the afternoon wore on the breeze died a little, the sun was covered by a thin layer of cloud and the temperatures dropped a little. I ate dinner sat on deck enjoying the coolness of the evening air after the heat of the day.

The breeze should continue to fill overnight and tomorrow and become more stable making progress a little easier.
