Durban wins Race 9 into Port Antonio

Durban won Race 9 on Saturday evening into Port Antonio, becoming the first boat in the fleet to win three races in the 05-06 Race and consolidating their position at the top of the leaderboard. Liverpool 08 and westernaustralia.com have both won two races each.
Durban finished just one mile ahead of westernaustralia.com, and New York were close behind in third place. In a closely fought three-day race the boats shifted positions from hour to hour with this final day culminating in a dramatic tacking match up the Jamaican coastline.

Then the rush was on to get to across the finish line at Folly Point in Port Antonio, with Uniquely Singapore clinching 4th place, Qingdao taking 5th and Cardiff finishing in 6th.
Jersey, who fell back from 4th earlier in the day finally finished in 7th place just ahead of Victoria in 8th and Liverpool 08 in 9th.

Glasgow is expected to finish in the next hour, with 3 miles left to run at 0030 local time, and will join the rest of the fleet in Port Antonio for a Saturday night celebration kicked off with ice cold Red Stripe beers on the pontoon.
With all the boats finishing in such a short time frame, a party has kicked off on the pontoon as crews share stories from three intense days of Caribbean racing.
