Circumnavigation!
Hi Everyone!!

Well, after 10 months, we finally did it this morning- we ‘Tied the Knot’ at 3:06 this morning. To cries of ‘Yes, there is a Round-the-world yachtsman in me!’, our little boat sailed over the winding, meandering green line on the computer screen which symbolised our outgoing path on the Liverpool to Cascais race and 10 of us became cirumnavigators.

Craig, Mark, Ava, Cat, Mike, Frankie, Tommy, Chris, Steve and myself are absolutely thrilled! We celebrated on deck this morning with Circumnavigation cake and, breaking our dry boat rules, some Amarula cream. This South African liqueur is made from amarula berries, which often fall to the ground in the game parks of South Africa, fermenting and then causing monkeys, elephants and other animals that eat them to stagger around drunk.

We are currently 46 miles from the finish line between the Lizard and Ouessant, and so hope to be over this afternoon. The wind seems to have filled in, and thoughts of friends and family already in Jersey are spurring us on.

Much love to you all and thanks for all your support; see some of you in Liverpool!!
