CLIPPER VENTURES SEEKING SKIPPERS!
The search for skippers is now on! Clipper Ventures is looking for ten skippers to lead crew participating in the Clipper 07-08 Round the World Yacht Race.
Leaving in September 2007, Clipper 07-08 will circumnavigate the globe and take in port visits in Brazil, Panama, South Africa, Singapore and China, before returning to Liverpool, Capital of Culture 2008, the following summer.
Clipper Ventures is looking for skippers who already have their RYA Ocean Yachtmaster qualification with commercial endorsement. Skippers must also have excellent interpersonal, team and leadership skills, endless energy, drive, determination and commitment and be able to indextain the highest levels of safety and seamanship at all times.
The Clipper Race is a truly global event, with crew applications coming in from countries as far and wide as Costa Rica, Argentina, Pakistan and Nigeria. Clipper Ventures would also like to see international skippers racing and invites skippers from around the world to apply to represent their home ports and global city sponsors.
Already in Clipper 05-06, Durbanite Craig Millar skippered Durban Clipper into second place and was an excellent ambassador for his home city.
