At no time is the additional person(s) to be allowed to participate in any activity which assists the skipper within the race.

QUALIFYING
7.1 Each skipper shall complete an authenticated single-handed transoceanic qualifying voyage, between ports of not less than 2,000 nautical miles apart in a straight (rhumb) line, without anchoring or putting into port, in the yacht entered in the race.
7.2 No means of propulsion may be used during the qualifying voyage other than the force of the wind on sail and/or the manpower of the skipper. No form of powered handling device may be used when the yacht is underway, regardless of the source of power, other than electrically powered self-steering systems, hydraulically operated stays, keel and vangs, and pumps to fill, transfer and exhaust water ballast.
16.2 During each leg of the race, a yacht shall not take on board nor receive private meteorological information in any manner whatsoever.
Broadcast meteorological information and on-line weather information from public sites (one that has an URL) is permitted, provided it is readily accessible at no cost to all skippers. GRIB files may be provided, but only if approved by the race committee.
OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE
17.1 While underway, no physical contact may be made, nor may material assistance be provided, other than the passing of written messages or medical supplies.
17.2 A yacht may anchor or moor or tie up alongside a land based structure, for any purpose and persons other than the skipper may come on board and stores or equipment may be embarked and repairs effected. The acceptance of such assistance other than that specified in (NOR17.1) will require the yacht to stop racing, for a minimum of 48 hours. This 48hrs will be taken from the time she takes a tow or starts her engine. The yacht may return to the point she stopped racing within the 48hr period but will not resume racing until 48hrs after stopping.
17.3 Where a yacht anchors or moors or puts into port for assistance, or for any other reason and uses its motor or accepts a tow, the skipper shall note the position and time of starting the motor or taking the towline aboard. On leaving the port, anchorage or mooring the yacht shall return to this position before continuing in the race. The time spent will count as racing time and as part of the elapsed time for the leg. The race committee is to be advised immediately a skipper decides to anchor, moor or put into a port and when the yacht has re-started and a full report is to be included in the declaration.
ELAPSED TIME
18.1 An elapsed time will be used to score the finishers in each leg.
18.2 The overall winner will be the skipper in each class with the shortest overall time for the three legs after any adjustments for penalties or compensation by the race committee or international jury. There shall be no discards. A yacht shall complete all legs in accordance with the rules to be eligible for any overall placing or prize.
