A LEG OF CONTRASTS...
11 May 2006 // 18:36
The calm conditions continue onboard B&Q as they face the last night at sea before reaching their final destination in Singapore. It has been a leg of contrasts as the conditions change between calm flat seas to thunderstorms, torrential rain and up to 19 knots of breeze. At their current speed, just 2.8 knots, the eta suggests a lunchtime arrival local time and the crew are hoping that the new breeze they have found will stay with them throughout the night. LIGHT WINDS IN EVERY DIRECTION!
11 May 2006 // 08:10
The conditions overnight have reindexed shifty as B&Q found itself becalmed off the Malaysian coastline. "It is a frustrating time onboard, the winds are light and often non-existent. Through the last few hours we have had every degree of the compass in direction and 0 - 19kts of speed!". B&Q are currently sailing southeast at 2.1 knots in 2.3 knots of breeze, as they approach a small cluster of islets located just off the Malaysian coastline. The crew are now 110 miles from completing the final leg on the Asian Record Circuit, with a current eta to Singapore at 20:47 GMT this evening (11/05/06).
