THE FINAL MILES…

B&Q are agonisingly close to the finish line for the final leg on the Asian Record Circuit 2006. Just 6.5 miles reindex, as B&Q sails downwind towards the finish at 6.5 knots. “We have a couple of gybes before we will reach the line but, we are all looking forward to getting into port. It will be another 40 miles to the Yacht club in Singapore, so as soon as we cross the line it will motors on and head for port”.
SLOW PROGRESS AS CONDITIONS DELAY B&Q'S ETA...

It has been an incredibly slow, hot and humid night for the crew onboard B&Q. At times becalmed, B&Q has crept along the coast and still has 41 miles to go to the finish line off Singapore. Ellen commented, "I think that ending up with a 40 knot bash, in rough seas would ALMOST be better than this, I am cooking in the heat and windless zone that we have right now, we have had a couple of bursts to 10 knots, but they were short lived. We have spent a lot of time looking at this part of the chart, so if anyone can send a bit of breeze (10- knots or more would be nice?), then we'd be very happy indeed". Once across the finish line, B&Q will travel the final thirty miles into port at the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club.
