Franck Yves Escoffier (Crêpes Whaou!) should arrive during the night in Pointe à Pitre (166.8 miles from the arrival at 4:00 PM). He basically shows more than 1.5 days in advance over Trilogic and still indextains a nice 16.4 speed average in the last 24 hours. Once the line crossed, this will be a clean sweep as Franck Yves has dominated his class since the start. The first IMOCA 60 is expected on Friday evening, Roland Jourdain should hang up the Route du Rhum according to his profile.

Whaou Sieger Class 2

The weather conditions the 40-footer class went through these 2 last days were qualified as “Dantésque”, with a few scary experiences of boats broaching harshly in 40+ knots of wind or lying on the side in 8 meter waves. As if it was not enough, a new low-pressure system is building that should hit the fleet on Saturday.
Class 40: Joe Seeten (TMI Technologies) has set off his distress beacon. The skipper has keel damage but the boat is still up. He also mentionned a broken shoulder. A Belgium vessel is making road towards him to collect him.
