Due to the collapse of a spreader Greg has unfortunately been forced to retire from the record attempt just 10 hours after departure.
Obviously disappointed, Greg is now back at his start point Las Palmas de Gran Canaria after a slow overnight tow by the coastguard.
After getting some rest the damage and situation will be assessed to consider future options.
