Weekly Round Up: Week 4
Having caught the winds of salvation, BT was then speeding towards the South and the Roaring 40s, aiming at the first Ice Gate positioned by the race organisers to keep the boats reasonably north in order to reduce the risk of collision with drifting ice. This race mark was crossed by Sébastien in first place, while Yann Elies on Generali was getting more and more threatening, putting pressure on BT... just before the first major Southern Ocean low pressure system was expected to hit the fleet, forcing the skippers to activate the 'survival mode'.
