BELGIAN SKIPPER CHRISTOPHE BULLENS EXPECTED TO REACH CAPE TOWN BY MONDAY
What: Solo sailor, Christophe Bullens, is predicted to arrive in Cape Town late Sunday or early Monday on his 60ft yacht, Five Oceans of Smile too. Christophe, who has been beset with problems during first leg of the VELUX 5 OCEANS, will be the fifth and final skipper to finish the first of the five ocean sprints. The rest of the fleet of Eco 60s are busy preparing for the start of the next sprint to Wellington, New zealand on December 12th.
The VELUX 5 OCEANS is a solo, round-the-world yacht race which started in La Rochelle, France on October 17th. Considered The Ultimate Solo Challenge, the race covers five gruelling ocean sprints over nine months.
