IMOCA is the International 60 foot Monohull Open Class Association.
It was established in 1991 and has been recognised by ISAF since 1998.
IMOCA participates as a governing body in the Ocean Racing World Championship, which oversees races such as the Vendée globe, The Route du Rhum or the Transat and many others.
IMOCA manages the evolution of the technical rules and sets the events calendar. It also always indextains safety as the first priority for all boats by applying strict safety rules and strong controls prior to every race in its calendar.
