14.12.2013 / RACE 05/ Day 11
Albany, Western Australia - Sydney, New South Wales
After racing over 2,000 miles from Albany,
Western Australia PSP Logistics is just 15 miles away from crossing the finish line
into Sydney, Australia.
PSP Logistics is expected to cross the finish line between 2200-0000 (local time). Ahead of its arrival, skipper Chris Hollis reflected on his team’s performance and ever growing confidence as crew tackled a tricky kite drop without hesitation in Race 5.
"The crew were outstanding! In fact, it was our best kite drop to date. After crossing three oceans to get where we are, the crew have come on in leaps and bounds in skill and confidence. Once upon a time, if it were 20 knots, there would be a pause about using a kite. Now we are hoisting the kite and gybing in 30 knots with no problem which is a huge result and testament to each and every one on PSP Logistics.”
The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race fleet will be berthed at the CYCA at Rushcutters Bay. After a well-deserved break in Sydney, the teams will then begin to prepare for the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race which starts in Boxing Day, Thursday 26 December.
