Sidney Gavignet and Musandam-Oman Sail on the start of the Route du Rhum
Musandam-Oman Sail skipper Sidney Gavignet will set off today for the start of the 10th edition of the epic single-handed 3,542nm offshore race across the Atlantic Ocean: the Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe. Sidney is sailing in a 70ft ULTIME Class trimaran, renowned for being hard to handle fully crewed, into the predicted 40 to 45 knot winds across the Bay of Biscay.
Fantastic footage from the start and the build up in Saint Malo, interviews with Sidney Gavignet on the dangers ahead and key members of the shore crew in English, French and Arabic.
