At 1950hrs UTC Arnaud Boissières, skipper of the IMOCA 60 Le Bateau des Métiers by Aérocampus sent a message to the Transat Jacques Vabre race director: "The mainsail just tore in half. With a heavy heart we return to Les Sables d’Olonne. "
