30 skippers to compete?
Yves Auvinet, President of the Saem Vendée announced at a meeting on Tuesday with the skippers of the next Vendée Globe that three more places will be made available at the start on 6th November, taking the possible total to 30. This was fantastic news for some of the skippers on the waiting list, who have now joined the list of thirty.
If the thirty skippers registered do make it to the start line on 6th November, the Vendée Globe will beat the record for the number of non-French entrants, as no fewer than ten nations and four continents will be represented for the first time in the Everest of the seas.
