The home stretch

Emotions are running high for the sailors and their teams, as the excitement and pressure build with the big day drawing ever nearer. In just one and a half months from now, all of the competitors taking part in the eighth Vendée Globe must have their boats moored in Les Sables d’Olonne, as they carry out their final preparations for the start on 6th November. The holidays are now over for all of the entrants and their teams. The clock is ticking and they need to be fully organised every day.

Six skippers took part this week in the first pre-race training course organised at the Finistère offshore racing centre in Port-la-Forêt (Brittany). Among those taking part, Jérémie Beyou and Paul Meilhat, who told us more this week.
