28 boats moored up in Port Olona

Finally, the fleet that we have all, been looking forward to seeing in this eighth Vendée Globe has moored up at the pontoon in Port Olona. 28 monohulls out of the 29 competitors have so far arrived. Only Sébastien Destremau (TechnoFirst-faceOcean) is missing, but he has permission from the Race Directors to arrive next week after needing to carry out repairs after his boat was dismasted.

The excitement is building in Port Olona, and the crowds are alrerady present to greet the sailors, most of whom arrived yesterday (Thursday) or during the night. In this week's newsletter, information about all that is planned for the next three weeks in Les Sables d'Olonne, where the race village opens its doors on Saturday.
