The 9 teams contesting the Brewin Dolphin Commodores' Cup are currently racing round the Isle of Wight on the penultimate day of the seven day event in Cowes, Isle of Wight. The winner of the Commodores' Cup will be announced at the prizegiving for teams from Ireland, Britain, Scotland and France tomorrow after the final race. The Brewin Dolphin Commodores' Cup 2014, organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club is one of the most prestigious events on the international yachting calendar
Culminating in a tough mix of inshore and offshore racing across a tense seven-day racing programme on the testing waters of the Solent, national teams with three boats each, will compete for the Commodores' Cup
The event will be held between Saturday 19 and Saturday 26 July 2014 at Cowes, Isle of Wight, England
The event is held within UK water biennially
The Brewin Dolphin Commodores' Cup 2014 is an international offshore regatta for national teams racing under the IRC (Endorsed) rating rule (but not under team racing rules)
RYA Red GBR hold the prestigious Commodores' Cup after their 2012 victory
Seven teams contested the last Brewin Dolphin Commodores' Cup in 2012: Four British teams were up against strong competition from France, Hong Kong and Benelux, the latter comprising two boats from the Netherlands and a third from Belgium
