STAR SAILORS LEAGUE FINALS 2014 KEY FACTS
The Star Sailors League is a new sports promotion company headquartered in Lausanne, the world capital of sport. For the last year we have been gradually putting together an international sailing circuit that has many unique aspects and focuses on highlighting the world's finest sailors. In the space of a single year, the company has supported and organised events in Italy, Switzerland, the United States and the Bahamas.
The Star Sailors League Finals 2014, will come back in Nassau Yacht Club for the second consecutive year, between December 2nd and 7th. The Star Sailors League Finals 2014 regatta takes place over the four days between December 3rd to 6th (the 2nd is the opening day and the 7th is a reserve day). A total of 20 teams will be taking part, 60% on merit and 40% by invitation. A high number of wild cards (Star champions not sailing regularly or coming from other classes) will further boost the standard of competitiveness and make the event even more exciting to fans.
THE CENTRE OF SAILING WORLD FOR A WEEK
SSL Finals 2014 will have, in terms of skippers alone, a total of 16 Olympic medals (six golds) in the fleet, no less than 31 World Championship victories as well as 7 participations in the America's Cup and 5 in the Volvo Ocean Race.
The fleet competing in the Bahamas will probably the strongest ever seen in a single competition.
