The Olympic classes and IKA representatives meet in Palma with Sofia IBEROSTAR organisers
IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts The Olympic classes and IKA representatives took the opportunity of the Trofeo Sofia IBEROSTAR to meet in Palma with the event organisers.
Ferran Muniesa and the regatta organisation committee are working closely with the Olympic classes to insure to cover the needs of the sailors in each class.
This close cooperation has started many years ago and intensifies this year with the inclusion of many classes representatives in the organisation. Jeff Martin is bringing his long time expertise on the Laser race management committee. IKA director Markus Schwendtner is bringing the same service for the kites who are a new addition to the racing programme in Palma. RS.X class manager Andrus Poksi is the regatta Jury chairman and IFA Executive Director Corinne Mckenzie is back behind her computer to help with the international media. Of course, Nino Shmueli is carrying a few hats including event PRO and 470 class vice-president. 470 and Nacra managers, Luissa Smith and Edwin Lodder are also present in Palma during the regatta.
"With the European and African Continental Qualifications taking place next year at the Trofeo Sofia IBEROSTAR, the cooperation between classes and organisers is essential and will continue in order to insure the best level of racing, fairness and services are delivered." concludes regatta director Ferran Muniesa.
