Emirates Team New Zealand claims the Louis Vuitton Cup
The entire Emirates Team New Zealand squad climbed up on the prize
giving stage to receive the Louis Vuitton Cup on Wednesday evening,
after winning the fifth race of the Final, to sweep their way into the
America's Cup Match.
The Louis Vuitton Cup trophy arrived in Port America's Cup on the back
of a paraglider before it was presented to the team by Yves Carcelle,
the President and CEO of Louis Vuitton Malletier. "Today, we have a
fantastic winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup," Mr. Carcelle said, handing
the trophy to skipper Dean Barker and team leader Grant Dalton.
The Emirates Team New Zealand squad was also joined on stage by Michel
Bonnefous, the CEO of the organisers of the 32nd America's Cup and
Antoine Arnault, the Director of Communications for Louis Vuitton.
Shortly after receiving the trophy, the team enjoyed a champagne moment,
spraying magnums of Moët & Chandon over each other, filling the trophy
and drinking from the Louis Vuitton Cup.
The Emirates performance was impressive; the 5-0 sweep was the first
time in Louis Vuitton Cup history that the final scoreline had been so
one-sided. Certainly the Luna Rossa team was impressed.

Port America's Cup is drawing a crowd - over 2 million visitors
Valencia, 15 April, 2007 - With the decisive 2007 season just underway, attendance at the 32nd America's Cup during events has just broken the 2 million barrier. This dates back to the first Louis Vuitton Acts in 2004 when nearly 300 000 people visited the AC Park.
In 2005, over 800 000 people came to the AC Park in three venues across Europe and last year, with racing restricted to Valencia, the growing Port America's Cup welcomed nearly 500 000 visitors over 22 days.

A slow start to the Louis Vuitton Cup on a busy day at Port America's Cup
Valencia, 16 April, 2007 - Following a four year programme of racing across Europe, on Monday the first day of racing in the Louis Vuitton Cup was scheduled. For the first time, the challengers were sailing for their lives, with elimination looming after two Round Robins.
But the weather didn't fully cooperate. For the more than 50 thousand spectators in the AC Park on a holiday Monday, it was a beautiful, warm, sunny day; the first for weeks. But on the water, the wind needed for fair racing never materialised with a very light and unstable sea breeze teasing race officials and sailors alike

ZDF-Sportstudio war beim United Internet Team Germany zu Gast
Mit einer besonderen Showeinlage haben die Grinder des United Internet Team Germany am Samstag abend im deutschen Fernsehen für Furore gesorgt. Während der ZDF-Live-Sendung „Aktuelles Sportstudio“ vom Basecamp des deutschen America’s Teams zogen sie unter dem tosenden Beifall der Zuschauer nur mit Ihrer Muskelkraft einen Wakeboarder etwa 30 Meter durch das Hafenbecken.

United Internet Team Germany belegt in der Gesamtwertung Platz zehn
In einem spannenden und umkämpften Matchrace ist dem United Internet Team Germany zum Abschluss von Round Robin I im Louis Vuitton Cup kein Sieg gelungen. Erst auf dem letzten Vorwindkurs zum Ziel zog die italienische +39 Challenge an der Germany I vorbei und gewann das Rennen. Mit drei Punkten schließt das United Internet Team Germany die Round Robin I auf Platz zehn ab.

Louis Vuitton Cup: Deutlicher Matchrace-Erfolg gegen das China Team
Mit deutlichem Vorsprung hat das United Internet Team Germany sein Matchrace gegen das China Team gewonnen und damit den zweiten Sieg im Louis Vuitton Cup geholt. Mit einem sehr guten Start legte Skipper Jesper Bank den Grundstein zu dem Sieg, im Ziel betrug der Vorsprung 2:16 Minuten. „Es ist uns gelungen, das China Team zweimal zu schlagen – das tut gut“, sagte Jesper Bank nach dem Rennen. Das erste Rennen des Tages hatte das deutsche Team gegen Luna Rossa Challenge aus Italien verloren. Mit fünf Punkten belegt es Platz zehn in der Louis Vuitton Cup-Gesamtwertung.

United Internet Team Germany feiert den Abschluss des Louis Vuitton Cups
Mit einer Niederlage gegen das italienische Team +39 Challenge ist für das United Internet Team Germany die Round Robin 2 des Louis Vuitton Cups zuende gegangen. In seinem letzten Matchrace des Herausforderer-Wettbewerbs zum 32. America’s Cup kam das deutsche Team mit 30 Sekunden Rückstand ins Ziel und belegt damit in der abschließenden Gesamtwertung Platz zehn mit fünf Punkten.

Emirates Team segelt ins Finale

Im siebten Matchrace der Halbfinal-Serie gegen die Desafio Espanol machte das Emirates Team New Zealand alles klar. Im Finale des Louis Vutton Cup treffen die Neuseeländer auf das italienische Team Luna Rossa. Das Segel-Syndikat Emirates Team New Zealand ist bei der Herausforderer-Runde des 32. America´s Cup in Valencia ins Finale eingezogen und trifft dort ab dem 1. Juni auf die Luna Rossa aus Italien. Die Neuseeländer distanzierten die spanische Desafio Espanol am Mittwoch um 1:18 Minuten und entschieden die "best-of-nine"-Serie der Vorschlussrunde mit 5:2 Siegen für sich.

A convincing win by Emirates Team New Zealand
Luna Rossa Challenge finds itself in a hole this afternoon after dropping its third consecutive match in the Final of the Louis Vuitton Cup. The Italians now trail 3-0 in the 'first to five' series.
It will have been a discouraging day for Luna Rossa as helmsman James Spithill appeared to win the start cleanly, starting four seconds ahead of the New Zealand boat, near the pin end of the line. The Emirates squad started to the right, late and slow, but soon picked up a nice finger of pressure to turn a 20 metre deficit into a 40 metre advantage. The Kiwis built on that lead the rest of the way.
The next task for Emirates Team New Zealand is facing Alinghi in the
32nd America's Cup Match. Throughout the four years of Louis Vuitton
Acts, the Kiwis and the Alinghi team have sailed 10 matches, with the
Emirates squad holding a 6-4 advantage. Last year, the Kiwis won 4 of 5
races. Alinghi is prepared for a tough battle commencing 23 June.
The 32nd America's Cup Match begins on 23 June. It is a 'first to five'
series - the first team to win five races will win the America's Cup.
