A Decisive Day
Three races scheduled for the TP52's and two for the GP42's as a
pattern starts to set on the regatta leaderboard.
The penultimate day of the Camper Regatta – Conde de Godó Trophy –
Barcelona and three races are scheduled for the TP52 Series fleet and
two for the GP42 Series. The TP52 Series here is scheduled to a
maximum of 12 races and the forecast for the final day, Sunday, is
promising.
After a long and intense day yesterday, today it looks as if there
will be no let up, the pressure on the teams staying at the same high
level with decent breeze predicted through the afternoon. Around start
time, 1300hrs, the wind is expected to be between 7 and 9 knots from
south of east, clocking right to about 170 degrees in the last
afternoon. The weather predictions suggest there will be plenty going
on on the race area, perhaps with more wind pressure to be gained
offshore but with the general trend of the breeze moving right. And as
the afternoon progresses the wind should reach around 12 knots but
later the differences between the opposite sides of the course will
become more pronounced.
In the standings for the Camper Regatta – Conde de Godó Trophy –
Barcelona it is Emirates Team New Zealand which leads the TP52 Series
by five points from Artemis on 24 points while Quantum Racing (USA)
are in hot pursuit in third just one point behind, and then there is a
gap of 11 points back to fourth placed Bribon. In the GP42 Series
fleet Madrid –Caser Seguros (ESP) leads by six points over the current
Audi MedCup Champions Islas Canarias Puerto Calero (ESP).
Top World Cup slalom skiers Julien Lizeroux (FRA), who won two silver
medals at the World Championships last year in Val d’Isère and Felix
Neureuther (GER) are VIP guests today, both swapping between races
aboard Audi A1 powered by ALL4ONE (FRA/GER) and Artemis (SWE) so they
race against each other.
Audi MedCup TV broadcasts all the action live from the race course
starting at 1000hrs each day, supported by real time interactive
virtual tracking, live commentary and interviews. And this evening in
the Audi MedCup Public Village on the Moll de la Fusta, the day is
concluded by music from The Walks and La Musicalite.
