A proper sea breeze day
&xnbsp; &xnbsp; &xnbsp;
TeamOrigin head out on to the waters off Cartegena leading the Caja Mediterráneo Region of Murcia Trophy by just one point after the first two races. Audi MedCup TV goes live at 1000hrs.

Three races are scheduled today for the TP52 Series and also for the GP42 Series which resumes racing action with their first races at this regatta. Islas Canarias Puerto Calero (ESP) won the practice race yesterday. After yesterday’s moderate wind, up to 16knots, today looks set to have just a lighter sea breeze which is likely to take a little longer to get going. The first start for the TP52’s is scheduled for 1300hrs with the GP42’s due to follow immediately with their first races of the regatta. Tonight at the Audi MedCup Public Village there is a jazz night starting at 2200hrs with the Jazz Menor Band.

Audi MedCup TV goes live at 1000hrs today, broadcasting all the real time, live action from the race area throughout the day.The strong flowing current was a key component of tactical decisions upwind and downwind: Simon Fisher (GBR) navigator Cristabella (GBR): “You do get quite a big flow in an out of Gibraltar and it will eddy up the coast depending on the prevailing wind. And here there is basically a NE’ly stream which comes along the coast, but because there are lots of bays it follows the bays but the offshore flow is going between the headlands at about 070 degrees. But when you go inshore there is quite a lot of relief and actually a little bit of a back eddy. We have seen over 2 knots a couple of days. It seems to move a little bit in bands, you can see it quite well defined on the water. Yesterday there seemed to be a band that if you got too far out then you dropped off it a bit. But it is changing all the time and so you do have to work quite hard to stay on top of it.”And on the weather for today the English navigator suggests: “ The weather forecast is not that optimistic. Most of the models are pretty soft. Yesterday we had an early NE’ly gradient which you could see around the dock and in the morning, whereas to today it is more of a true sea breeze, there is no NE’ly gradient. The previous morning up at Mar Menor and La Manga this morning it was very still and all quite foggy, everything is quite stable and so we will just need to rely on a pure sea-breeze and that will take a little more time to get going. It will be a little bit more right than yesterday 8-11kts.” &xnbsp; &xnbsp;
