Both the Audi MedCup Circuit and the 24 Hours of Le Mans represent very top level major international sporting events, with Audi playing a major role at both. They are both held in June in France: one being the Marseille Trophy (Marseille, 15-20 June) and the other the 24 Hours of Le Mans (Le Mans, June 12-13). The king of endurance motor racing began at 15:00 h yesterday and ended at 15:00 h today at the legendary Sarthe circuit in the town of Le Mans. After 24 hours of non-stop competition, the Audi R15 TDI number 9 co-driven by Timo Bernhard (GER), Roindex Dumas (FRA) and Mike Rockenfeller (GER) took the checkered flag first after completing 397 laps of the track of 13.629 kilometers of Le Mans.

The success of the Audi R15 TDI is evident as they monopolized all three top places, as the second finisher was number 8 Audi Sport Team Joest car and the third, number 7. According to Fernando Íñigo, director of marketing and communication of World Sailing Management, organizer of the Audi MedCup Circuit, “This is the perfect culmination for the intense efforts made at Audi Sport, institutional and marketing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Now it is the turn of the Audi A1 powered by ALL4ONE to take the baton and try to get a victory in Marseille Trophy, indeed the only event on the calendar in which the Franco-German team competes at home. " The Marseille Trophy begins next Tuesday with a sports program consisting of 10 races for the TP52 Series (including the coastal race on Friday) and nine for the GP42 Series. Racing is broadcast live on Audi MedCup TV through www.medcup.org. On land, the action began yesterday with the official opening of the event Public Village, located in the historic Vieux Port of Marseille. Today, thousands of people have been to the harbor to enjoy the show Audi MedCup.
