"Team Extreme" meldet sich mit Skipper Roland Gaebler bei der Extreme Sailing Series 2011 an>BR>
Die Extreme Sailing Series ™, begrüßt eine neue Mannschaft für den Global Circuit 2011 mit segeln. "Team Extreme" wird vom erfahrenen Multihull Segler Roland Gaebler gesteuert "Wir sind sehr froh darüber, daß wir an dieser Serie teilnehmen können. Besonders stolz sind wir darauf, daß wir mit Topteams wie Alinghi, Luna Rossa, Emirates Team New Zealand und andere große Legenden in einem Rennen segeln dürfen".

Während der Düsseldorfer Bootsmesse, die weltweit größte Yacht und Bootsmesse, präsentiert Roland Gaebler sein Team Projekt auf dem Stand von Marinepool, die ihr 20 Jahr Jubiläum feiern.

Einer der weltweit versiertesten Mehrrumpf-Segler und Präsident der internationales Tornado Klasse sieht Roland Gaebler gespannt der neuen Herausforderungen entgegen. Im Jahr 2009 war er Skipper des deutschen Extreme 40 "Team WIRSOL" in Kiel und im Jahr 2010 führte Gaebler die ungarische Mannschaft, Team Nokia Ungarn im ersten Extreme 40 Weltmeisterschaften zum 6. Platz.

Bruno Dubois, tactician
Die beiden Segelsport Legenden Bruno Dubois (CAN) und Sebbe Godefroid (BEL) runden das Team ab. Zusammen hat die Mannschaft eine beindruckende Leistungsbilanz hinter sich mit der Teilnahme an 9 Olympischen Spielen. 2 Olympia Medaillen, 7 WM-Titels und 3 America's Cups Einsätzen. Es wird keinen Mangel an Erfahrung im „Team Extreme" herrschen! Das vierte und letzte Crewmitglied wird von jedem der Gastländer kommen, und bietet eine Möglichkeit dass sich so die besten Talente des Landes präsentieren können.

Gaebler's Team hat in dieser Konstellation noch nie zusammen gesegelt. "Wir werden von Anfang an mit großer Leidenschaft segeln. Daraus werden sich die Ergebnisse von selber ergeben" sagte Gaebler . "Wir geben unser Bestes und sehen, was passiert, und dabei werden wir eine Menge Spaß mit diesem tollen Boot haben. Wir lieben es zu segeln und zu fliegen. Wir planen eine intensive Trainingseinheit in Oman um das Team zu synchronisieren. Mit Bruno Dubois und Sebbe Godefroid habe ich ganz große Segler an meiner Seite und einige große Veranstaltungen mit erstaunlichen Booten warten auf uns."

Roland Gaebler is one of the most successful multihull sailors in the world with over 50 international titles won over the last 30 years. The highlights are an Olympic bronze medal in Sydney 2000 and 5 World Championships in the Tornado. They also include 10 wins at European Championships plus overall victory at the Volvo Champions Race. He has spent much time leading the ISAF World ranking in the Tornado and won many of the ISAF World Cup events . Onboard Steve Fossett's maxi catamaran "Playstation" he set a speed record in 2001. Roland competed at 5 Olympic Games and was honored by German Chancellor Helmut Kohl and Gerhard Schröder for his sportive achievements. He is the team coach for management and was head coach for the German Sailing Federation for the Tornado and 49er class. In a recent comeback, he won the Tornado World championship 2010 with his wife Nahid Gaebler.
