X-YACHTS GOLD CUP IN GLÜCKSBURG
The 14th X-Yachts Gold Cup takes place in Glücksburg from 7-9 July 2011 with more than 50 participating X-Yachts from Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland.
More than 450 sailors will be expected on board during this event
Flensburger Segel-Club, which has gained a fine reputation as organizer of regional and international regattas, accommodates the event.
Together with X-Yachts' headquarter in Denmark, the sales company in Germany, X-Yachts Deutschland is co-ordinating the Gold Cup.
The X-35 classes and the sports boat classes will be sailing up and down wind course in the inner area of Flensburger Fjord.
The family classes are sailing partly short inshore races, partly a longer route throughout the Sonderburger Bay.
The over 50 ft yachts - a newly introduced X-Class - will be sailing distance races.
The classes will be finally timed at the FSC Harbour in Glücksburg.
The represented X-Yachts are ranging from one of the early X-Yachts models from 1988 - the 60ft now named "X-One" - to the brand new Xperformance yacht, the Xp 44.
Sponsoring this specific event is Audi Zentrum Flensburg, Pantaenius and boot Düsseldorf together with X-Yachts event other sponsors.
