AUDI SAILING TEAM POWERED BY ALL4ONE STILL LEADING THE REGION OF SARDINIA TROPHY
AFTER A GREAT WIN IN THE COASTAL RACE !y
The Region of Sardinia Trophy is definitely a very good event for Audi Sailing Team
powered by ALL4ONE. After a 5th place today in the first race, the Franco-German
team won the coastal race with style.
Jochen Schümann, Skipper:"I think we did what we wanted to do. We were leading right
after the start, but then we missed to cross the fleet early enough, so Synergy
was leading at the top mark by just a few meters. But we already overtook them on
the downwind leg, and from there on we were leading all over the race, with more
or smaller margin. We are happy, as it was a tough race because it was quite windy.
The crew did a great job, and I think it is the first time also that we have a good
feeling against Quantum Racing, who is basically the leader of the circuit. We didn't
miss anything against them today, which is good."
Gilles Favennec, Pit assist:"We prepared the coastal race the best that we could
this morning, and then we managed to do well in the race, which is also a positive
point. We are fast in almost all situations, which was not the case before, which
is another positive observation. We are more confident, even if we have some small
doubts from time to time, and we carry on learning to sail the boat, but it gets
better and better. The team spirit is also very good, like the weather in Cagliari,
with more Mistral wind to come, and we like these windy conditions for the boat
and for the team."
Tomorrow will be the last racing day of the Region of Sardinia Trophy, with two
more races to go.
