Of the MOD70 Nr05 Spindrift racing
Barely a month on from the commitment of Oman Sail and Sidney
Gavignet to the MOD70 circuit, the veil has been lifted on the
MOD70 Nr05. A new, international racing stable, helmed by the
skipper Yann Guichard, is taking off: Spindrift racing. The
MOD70 Nr05, which will be launched in January 2012, is the
stable's flagship. This additional entry brings the number of
participants for the Multi One Championship to six, as well as
completing the list of entries for the KRYS OCEAN RACE, the
start of which will take place on 7 July 2012.
Spindrift racing is a racing stable with an international
influence:
The development of Spindrift racing, whose vocation is to support
and drive competitive sailing projects internationally, is
taking shape through the acquisition of a latest generation one
-design trimaran, to participate in the Multi One Championship.
Through the MOD70 Nr05, Spindrift racing, Yann and all his
partners are keen to provide optimum visibility about the ocean
planet!
An experienced skipper:
Born on Île aux Moines in Brittany, Yann Guichard quickly
discovered that his future would be linked to the water. Indeed
this is where this 38-year old islander racked up a solid
experience in sailing and the multihull in particular, which he
very soon became smitten with. From the Tornado, to La
Trinitaine, Gitana 11 as well as the Extreme 40 Alinghi and the
AC45 Energy Team, via a spell on Orange 2 and Groupama 3, this
determined sailor has constantly sailed at the top of his game.
Helmsman, router, skipper, the man dons each of these costumes
with a relaxed frame of mind and performs his role with talent.
This ease combined with experience makes Yann Guichard a
formidable competitor on the Multi One Design circuit, where the
sportsman steals a lead over the machines!

single circuit, I'll be able to turn all the experience I've
gained over the past twenty years to good account: Olympic Games
, oceanic crossings, offshore races and city races. It's no
longer about sailing as a crew member or becoming a skipper in a
racing stable which is already in place. It's really about being
the project manager behind a magnificent challenge. My keenness
to get to the start line in New York is now gnawing away at me!"

Meet up next week in La Trinité-sur-Mer for the KRYS MATCH:
Yann Guichard, skipper of Spindrift racing, and all the sailors
signed up for the Multi One Championship, will be in attendance
next week in La Trinité-sur-Mer during exhibition races which
will take place on 6, 7 and 8 October between Race for Water,
Veolia Environnement, Foncia and Gitana 11.
