Guests Celebrate Official Opening Of New Marina Office, Shower,
Toilet And Laundry Facilities At Cowes Yacht Haven
Isle of Wight High Sheriff Mrs Susie Sheldon formally opened the
impressive new £300,000 marina office, shower, toilet and
laundry facilities at Cowes Yacht Haven on Friday 30 March.&xnbsp; An
invited audience of customers, tenants and journalists witnessed
the ribbon cutting ceremony and enjoyed a champagne reception to
toast the new amenities.&xnbsp; Mrs Sheldon humorously reworked the
classic yacht launching phrase as she cut the ribbon and
declared "God bless this facility and all who shower in her."
Designed by Adam Riddett of Arid Building And Environmental
Consultants and built by MCM Construction, the complete
reconfiguration of these shore-side facilities has been
undertaken in just three months to minimise disruption to marina
visitors.
Cowes Yacht Haven Managing Director Jon Pridham explained the
background to the refit saying, "It's more than 10 years since
these facilities were last refitted and our priority has been to
bring them up to the highest modern standards.
"By reconfiguring the first floor marina office we've been able
to bring the entire management team together on one level and
make our front of house area fully customer focused.&xnbsp; It has had
the added benefit of making our management team more accessible
and visible to our customers.
"On the ground floor the toilet, shower and laundry facilities
have been completely redesigned to make them larger, improve
access and give greater flexibility.&xnbsp; We've created new ambulant
cubicles that are suitable for those with limited mobility and
the disabled toilet has also been refitted. &xnbsp;The new equipment
is not only technically the best available but also creates a
much more attractive and welcoming environment for our clients."
Amongst the benefits of the new facilities are:

Better drainage
Increased hot water capacity (will provide hot water to all
showers simultaneously!)
Reception area TV screens showing BBC News 24/Cowes TV
Coming shortly -&xnbsp;an Interactive touch screen TV linked to the
Cowe Yacht Haven Website for customer use.
The reconfiguration of the marina office has also created space
for a separate suite of three offices on the second floor with
their own toilet and kitchenette facilities and dedicated
entrance. &xnbsp;The offices enjoy spectacular Solent views and
potential tenants are sought for the offices.
