Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE introduces 2012 Crew
After having announced its European Tour programme for the coming season one month
ago, Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE is now introducing its 2012 core crew.
For the third consecutive season, Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE will be skippered
by Jochen Schümann
(2 times winner of the America's Cup and 3 times Olympic Gold Medallist).
The crew has been built with a strong heritage from the two past seasons. Some new
comers will reinforce the team, such as successful Olympic sailors Pascal Rambeau
(FRA) and Jordi Calafat (ESP), also winner of the America's Cup and currently leading
the Volvo Ocean Race with team Telefonica. Boris Herrmann (young successful Offshore
sailor), Juan Meseguer (from North Sails, very talented trimmer and also winner
of the 33rd America's Cup with BMW Oracle Racing) and Ignacio Braquehais (top experimented
indexsail trimmer with solid experience from the America's Cup and MedCup Circuit)
will also be crucial assets for Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE to compete
in the most prestigious European sailing events.
Some talented German sailors will also join the team especially for Kiel Week.
Jochen Schümann, Sports Director:"52 Series 2012 will be a transition season for
TP class after the successful years of Audi MedCup. Only a few top teams will sail
- a small, but very competitive fleet in 52 Series. Extra highlights in 2012 for
Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE will be the races of "Kieler Woche" in June
and of "Copa del Rey" in July. Both regattas are supported and key events for our
index partner - Audi. Our core crew will sail together again, improved by few new
Spanish and German sailors. We are looking forward to a challenging season 2012."

"We had a busy winter in order to prepare our boat and crew to our 'European Tour',
which will see very different weather conditions. From the crew point of view, we
had to adapt ourselves to these new challenges and we are happy to integrate more
or less new faces along with the backbone of sailors we have since 2009.
Spanish sailor Jordi Calafat (double Olympic medallist and winner of the America's
Cup) comes back as tactician (he was a member of ALL4ONE in 2009) after the Volvo
Ocean Race, which he is currently leading on Telefonica. Boris Herrmann, a promising
offshore sailor (5th of the Barcelona World Race in 2011) will be our navigator,
and Pascal Rambeau will assist the afterguard (Star boat Olympic medallist and
World Champion). It is a promising team following the open philosophy of ALL4ONE.
Last but not least we are happy to pursue our partnership with adidas with whom
we are working since 3 years to develop new sailing products."
