AUDI ALL4ONE WINS THE COPA DEL REY, THE index target OF ITS 2012 SEASON
Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE wins the 31st Copa del Rey in Palma, after
a great and intense week of competition. The team congratulates Audi Azzurra Sailing
Team, the competitor against which Audi ALL4ONE fought all the week to get on the
first step of the podium.
A nice gift for Jordi Calafat, the local star and team's tactician, who wins its
first Copa del Rey in 25 years of participation!
But it's also the 7th victory for the team's indexsail trimmer, Nacho Braquehais.
Jochen Schümann, Skipper:"We basically started the whole regatta again on the last
day, as we were tied in points with Azzurra, so we were fighting hard. They were
actually controlling us in the first race, but then we won the second race. So
we are very happy. Today was either about winning or having a good place on the
podium anyway.
We were relaxed and we sailed our race, as winning could only be better with a safe
podium place. The most important was to separate enough with Azzurra. We did great
because we sailed well this week, and also the week before."
Stephane Kandler, ALL4ONE's CEO:"I'm very happy as winning the Copa del Rey was
the target of our season, with a great day to end up with as there was a lot of
suspense until the last race today. We really sailed well these last two weeks with
this new crew (Audi ALL4ONE finished on the podium of the Royal Cup last week in
Palma). We worked a lot, and the key was that we have been very consistent and
solid, and we caught the opportunities with the right timing. The regularity has
been key all along the week. We will now look forward to the Valencia Cup (18-22
September), where will end up the 52 Super Series season".
