This month on Seamaster Sailing two legends meet online as the first man on the moon talks to the first person to sail non-stop and solo around the world. Seamaster is on the finish line of the Velux 5 Oceans to welcome home the four skippers including Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, who completed the longest race for an individual in any sport
While the Velux fleet was completing the Atlantic crossing from the USA to the finish in Bilbao, giant multihull, GROUPAMA 3 was heading the opposite way to set a new sailing speed record. Seamaster Sailing brings you the story from on board.. and the result.
And Seamaster is in Spain with the America?s Cup as life changes in an instant for seven teams who after years of build up are knocked out of the competition. For many of those sailors the priority now is looking for new work.
And as sailing?s richest prize reaches it?s climax a new event is announced. Seamaster Sailing heads to London with Ellen MacArthur as she launches the iShares Cup, a circuit that will see multihulls on tour in Europe, racing within metres of the shore.. One to please the crowds.
