LOTTERY IS OPEN ....
Like for the last event SAIL & RACE is organizing again a lottery for fast entry decision makers. At the last event Stefan Hummelt, owner of 'Emil Reiseschwein' won the first prize: Free basic entry fee for his yacht which was a value of € 1.000 which he donated to the youth of Segelvereinigung Altona Oevelgönne (SVAOe). Who will be the lucky winner in the next lottery which will end on 31st of January 2008?

Stefan Hummelt took part with his yacht “Emil Reiseschwein” in all three Cups and is the most successful Baltic Sprint Cup participant. He proudly presented the beautiful Baltic Sprint Cup Award (best skipper of the last two events) which he won already twice. So there are two goals for him in registering for the 2008-event: To defend the trophy and keep it for ever and to win again in the lottery … we will see.

During the press conference 4 entry application forms have been spontaneously filled out and given over to the committee. Race Director Alan Green collected the forms and handed over to the skippers the traditional “Registered Yacht Flag”. The boats, which are

• guts’n glory – Christopher Wuttke - successful racer with a DK46,
• Inschallah VI – Volker Andreae, winner over all in Baltic Sprint Cup 2006,
• Luv – Heiko Torno, who will give his yacht to a very young crew in order to fight for the youth trophy,
• Outsider – Tilmar Hansen, 2nd overall in the Transatlantic race 2007 from Newport to Hamburg may be already be seen in the internet under "Entries".

What is new in 2008:
• The start: It is the first time that the event will start in Germany and that in a long traditional race week, the 119th Travemünde Week. Christopher Wuttke, CEO of SE Spezial-Electronic AG who took over the “Strt-Up-Sponsoring”, promised to celebrate great opening party at the evening before the first start.

• The 710 nm long course including 4 legs via Karlskrona (Sweden), Klaipeda, Gdynia & Gdansk and finally to Rønne (Bornholm, Denmark).

• In the Gulf of Gdansk DnB NORD Polska will celebrate the DNB NORD Offshore Days which includes 2 Round-the-Buoys-Races each of about 12 nm.

• The grand finale, the “Final Show Down”, presented by the main event Sponsor DnB NORD, Copenhagen, at Rønne on the Danish holiday island Bornholm; an ideal location for families with kids waiting for their “racing dad”.

• The rule for the racers: In 2008 the racers will compete under IRC.

• A general entry fee reduction in average of 10%

• Additional fee reductions especially for fast decision makers (up to 15% by payment until 30th of November 2007), but also for youth crew members and yachts from all Baltic States, Poland and Russia.
