The most exciting thing on the waterfront today is the new public sail program on Dennis Conner's Formula 1s. Now you and your friends can sign up and go sailing on these super high performance sailboats. The first test day was held this past week. Now 2 more days have been announced, Saturday & Sunday, August 18 & 19. Each sail is 1 hour and costs $50. If you wish to sail longer, just buy tickets for back to back sails. The 4th Annual Hedge Fund Regatta Championship will be Monday evening, August 13. This charity event is sponsored by Griswold, The Hinckley Company, Institutional Investor and Moët & Chandon. It started with 30 teams and 2 preliminary regattas. The top half of each preliminary advanced to the finals. Now the question is, who will win? As you can imagine, the competition will be intense. Lots of egos and bragging rights for the next 12 months are at stake. The Second Dennis Conner International Yacht Club Challenge begins on Tuesday, August 22. Fourteen teams will compete in New York Harbor in a regatta designed to promote international goodwill through friendly competition. http://myc.org/iycc/default.htm

G-Sloop sailing on Barnegat Bay has been revived. Two classic G-Sloops have been restored and this local class has been brought back to life. Details are at http://myc.org/gsloop/home.htm. You can also see pictures of the G-Sloop Revival Regatta on July 28.
