Sail-World's Cruising World newsletter
As you read this we are sailing west from the Galapagos Islands towards the Marquesas. Its 3,000 miles, so we are well away from the nearest Internet Cafe.
However we have an Iridium phone and HF email software and so communication continues, albeit in a compressed form. We are not cut off, we heard the sad news on the Cutty Sark via the BBC earlier in the week.
It is warm by day and cooler at night, as you can see by my Gucci gear, as I prepare to go on watch.
Now to some of the stories of the week. We had a drama filled night before we left Isabela, not an adventure we want to repeat.
Then we went horseback riding and trekking on Isabela. The Galapagos are at risk with an ever increasing population.
In this week's newsletter we are repeating, by popular request, part three of our series on Container Ships and the Cruising Sailor.
Then on a lighter note, we are over Bananas in Heaven.

Galapagos at risk says Charles Darwin Foundation
Recently both a UNESCO Mission declared that the Galapagos is ''at risk''. So at risk that the President of Ecuador a few weeks ago described the situation as an emergency and issued a new Decree for stronger implementation of current laws....
