Hi Dr.Krumnacker,
Sail-World.USA .... Latest US and International sailing news

Sail-World's US Editor Lynn Fitzpatrick was in Qingdao, the only sailing journalist on the Sailing organising committee. She is seeking constructive feedback on the Test event website. I was in Qingdao, China at the 2007 Good Luck Beijing Sinopec International Regatta, which is the pre-Olympic test event for next year's Olympic Games. It is a test event for everyone - athletes, coaches, race management, regatta organizers, the City of Qingdao, the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee and the International Olympic Committee. It is truly an honor for me to have been invited there. I am the only sailing journalist that is part of the Sailing Committee of the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee. That means that I was out on the water watching eleven classes on five races and reporting on the day's activities once we came off the water. This job alone is a big task at any level regatta, but in an effort to try to set a precedent for Olympic Sailing, everybody there was trying to iron out the last kinks in the operations and that process now continues post event. The enthusiasm and the man power is there to accomplish what we need to do to satisfy International Olympic Committee protocol, but some issues still need to be understood and resolved to bring you more timely reporting. Everyday brings vast improvements. I invite you to look at the website, www.2007qdregatta.com and provide us with your constructive criticism.. I am not trying to invite a thread on the web, rather solicit your reasonable recommendations. They will be reviewed, and if possible, included in the improvements for next year. Know that we are all learning a lot and working hard to host and sail a tremendous event here in Qingdao, China starting on 8/8/08. Thank you, keep sailing and keep sending us news, stories and recommendations. Good Luck!
