Cowes Yacht Haven – The Year Round Event Venue
Cowes Yacht Haven is a year round venue offering arguably the
most versatile event facilities anywhere on the UK's South Coast
. Over the winter months a host of corporate and private clients
will be using the Haven Events Centre for everything from
product launches and conferences to Christmas parties, concerts
and charity functions.
The team is also hard at work reviewing all of 2011's land and
marina based events to identify which elements were particularly
successful and where improvements can be made for the future.
Building on work started last winter additional upgrades are
underway to the site's infrastructure to ensure customers have
access to the best possible facilities. And of course work has
already started on planning for many of the major events to come
in 2012 and beyond.
"Analysing past events is key to ensuring future success."
Explains Cowes Yacht Haven Managing Director Jon Pridham. "Take
an event like Cowes Week. In 2011 we undertook phase one of the
revitalisation of our Regatta Village for Aberdeen Asset
Management Cowes Week. We've had some great feedback from
visitors, traders and the community alike about the new format,
but we can't afford to rest on our laurels. We have further
improvements planed for 2012 so its essential to conduct a
detailed evaluation focusing not only on the many positive
comments, but more importantly taking on board any criticisms
and recommendations so we can offer an even better service in
the future. We do this for all our events to encourage cross
fertilisation of ideas and best use of facilities.
"I am particularly proud of the way the entire team works in
harmony to bring all aspects of our operation together. This is
a very diverse business incorporating the marina, the boat yard
and the events centre and it would be easy for the different
sectors to come into conflict, but the staff go the extra mile
to ensure that all aspects of our work fit together seamlessly."
Cowes Yacht Haven is a uniquely placed and highly flexible venue
for both waterborne and shore side events and lends itself to a
wide range of activities.
"Flexibility is the key to our approach." Comments Haven Events
Centre Manager Ian Gregory. "We recognise that each client and
event has its own unique requirements and it is our job to
individually tailor our services to achieve the best possible
results for all of them.
"The adaptability of our physical infrastructure means that we
can handle everything from private dining and parties, through
large corporate and social events, shows and exhibitions, all
the way up to major regattas such as Pannerai British Classic
Week, the British Powerboat Festival and Aberdeen Asset
Management Cowes Week. In 2011 we welcomed more than 150 events
including our first classic car rally, Sega's 20th birthday
celebrations for Sonic the Hedgehog, the Isle of Wight Women's
Institute 90th Anniversary celebrations and Wight Ink,
showcasing tattoo artists from across the south of England.
"Cowes Yacht Haven is owned by Cowes Waterfront Trust and
therefore supporting the local community is also very important
to us. We host various community events throughout the year
including the annual Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce, Tourism
and Industry Business Awards for Excellence and the closing
ceremony of the Island Games.
"Within the Haven Events Centre we can accommodate groups of up
to 600 in the main hall for a conference, 400 for a sit down
dinner with dancing and we offer more intimate spaces for
smaller groups. With the addition of marquee facilities we can
also take on much larger events and of course we have outside
spaces right on the waterfront plus the only marina dedicated to
events on the south coast. It's an unbeatable combination. "
