An Audience with Ellen MacArthur
In 2009, Dame Ellen MacArthur will deliver her first public talks
since her record-breaking voyage around the world more than four
years ago.
The talks will take place in tandem with The Ellen MacArthur
Trust Skandia Round Britain Voyage of Discovery: Inspiring 85
young people in recovery from cancer or leukaemia to sail the
2000nm Round Britain.
The voyage begins from Cowes in May and will have stopovers at 17
ports across the UK. Ellen's public talks will coincide with
these stopovers between May and September 2009.
The talks aim to raise awareness and funds for the Ellen
MacArthur Trust - Ellen is giving her time free of charge, and
100% of the ticket proceeds will go directly to the Ellen
MacArthur Trust to support future projects.
Each inspirational talk will cover Ellen's life, her round-the
-world voyages, the work of the Ellen MacArthur Trust and her
plans for the future.
We are in the early stages of planning these talks, and our next
step is to make decisions on likely audience size and thus the
types of venue required in each location. Current confirmed
locations are Brighton, Dover, London, Hull, Newcastle,
Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow, Liverpool, Cardiff,
Torquay and Cowes.

activity, or supporters of the Ellen MacArthur Trust, we would
